The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a highly creative and innovative approach to teaching live visual design technologies and production.

We are seeking a lecturer with established profile in a distinctive field within live digital/visual design and production, to join our innovative staff team and industry leading courses. Applicants should hold a degree in a relevant field or have equivalent professional experience and teaching contexts from both a theory and practice perspective.

Successful candidates will undertake teaching assessment and delivery across our BA (Hons) Live Visual Design and Production and BA (Hons) Live Events Production courses. They must be able to work within the frameworks of experimental digital media practice as this post covers an array of possible specialisms in emerging forms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, new staff member with a “can do attitude” to join the exciting and rapidly expanding team at Backstage Academy. You would be expected to engage with enterprise activity, as well as developing your individual research. You will also be expected to contribute to engagement with schools, colleges and recruitment activities. We ensure the success of our courses through constant meaningful collaboration with the wider creative industries, on Production Park - #WhereLiveIndustryLives



  • Position – Full-Time 40-hour week 8:30am to 17:30pm
  • Salary – Dependent on experience.
  • Location – South Kirkby, Wakefield
