The Future Is Live celebrates official opening of XPLOR

Marking a milestone in the development of Production Park, ‘The Future Is Live’ event on January 23rd will welcome national production companies, film & TV studios, creative agencies, press and local authority representatives to celebrate the official launch of XPLOR – a new research and innovation hub dedicated to evolving the live production, entertainment, arts, and creative industries.

The Future is Live is all about how Production Park is growing with the industry, and how we are, collectively, shaping its future – through education, innovation, and collaboration.

The aim is to create opportunities for working together, to show the cultural and economic value of the live and screen industries, and to enable original, ambitious, and creative ideas to come to life.

Lee Brooks, CEO of Production Park said: “The live experience and entertainment industry is evolving at a rapid pace – we’re changing the way we deliver global tours and film and TV productions. As an industry we’re constantly challenging the way we do things to find better, more efficient and more sustainable methods of production.

“Production Park, and new research and development centre XPLOR is at the heart of this. With new technology and facilities, and an expert team driven to develop ideas and improve processes, we can support UK growth, its unique sector specialism and have a real impact on the future of the industry.”

The event includes a panel discussion, ‘Progress with Purpose: How do we secure the future of the creative industries?’ with:

Robin Cramp, Business Development Manager at Production Park and XPLOR, focusing on developing capacity for the Centre for Virtual Production.

In conversation with:

Sir Peter Bazalgette, former chair of ITV plc, chair of Creative Industries Council and “The most influential man in British Television.”

Darren Henley, CEO of Arts Council England, and author of three books on the importance of investment in creative education and culture.

This talk will be available online following the event.
